Skin Health Metrics

Deep understanding of the six skin metrics measured by AISkincare and how to improve each.

What Are Skin Health Metrics?

Skin health metrics are measurable aspects of your skin that apps like AISkincare analyze from a photo. AISkincare tracks six core metrics: hydration, texture, tone, acne, pores, and redness. Each is scored so you can track changes over time and tailor your personalized skincare routine and product choices.

Higher scores are better for hydration, texture, and tone; for acne, pores, and redness, lower scores indicate improvement. Your AI skin scan produces these scores in seconds, and you can compare them over time in the Progress tab. The app also shows an overall skin score (0–100) that combines these six metrics into one number for quick progress tracking.

Why Track These Six Metrics?

These six metrics align with common skincare goals: moisture balance (hydration), smoothness (texture), even color (tone), clear skin (acne), refined pores (pores), and calm skin (redness). Tracking them helps you see what's working and what to adjust in your AM and PM routines and product shelf.

Instead of guessing whether a new moisturizer or serum is helping, you can compare scans and watch your hydration or tone score over time. Full details on each metric are in the cluster pages: hydration, texture, tone, acne, pores, and redness.

How Does AISkincare Measure Them?

AISkincare uses a proprietary AI that analyzes your selfie to estimate each metric. The AI skin scanner processes the image on secure servers and returns scores plus optional zone-by-zone data. You get an overall score (0–100) and per-metric scores to track over time.

The AI looks at visual cues: skin luminance, color variation, surface pattern, and visible concerns. It does not diagnose medical conditions; it provides trendable scores to support your routine and product decisions. Using Your Metrics to Build a Better Routine

Once you know your hydration, texture, tone, acne, pore, and redness scores, you can build a personalized routine that targets your weaker areas. For example, low hydration might mean adding a humectant serum and a richer moisturizer; high redness might mean gentler cleansers and soothing ingredients.

Use the app's product recommendations and ingredient checker to choose products that support your metrics, then track progress to see if your scores improve over 4–8 weeks.
