Skin Texture Analysis

Understanding and improving your texture score.

What Is Skin Texture in the App?

Texture in AISkincare refers to the smoothness and evenness of your skin surface. The AI estimates this from your scan; higher scores mean smoother, more even texture. Roughness, bumps, or unevenness can lower the score.

Texture is one of the six skin metrics we track. It can be influenced by hydration, exfoliation, aging, and product use.

How Can I Improve My Texture Score?

Gentle exfoliation (chemical or physical), retinol (if suited to your skin type), and consistent moisturizing can improve texture over time. Avoid over-exfoliating, which can damage the barrier and increase redness or sensitivity.

Build a personalized routine that includes exfoliation and repair steps appropriate for your skin, and track your texture score to see progress. For anti-aging and fine lines, texture improvements often go hand-in-hand with tone and SPF use.

Texture vs. Tone: What's the Difference?

Texture is about smoothness and surface (bumps, roughness, fine lines). Tone is about color evenness (dark spots, redness, patchiness). Both are tracked separately in AISkincare, and both can improve with a consistent routine and the right products.
