6 Skin Metrics Explained

Understanding all six metrics AISkincare measures.

What Are the Six Skin Metrics?

AISkincare measures six core metrics from your selfie: hydration (moisture level), texture (smoothness and evenness), tone (color evenness), acne (breakouts and severity), pores (visibility and size), and redness (inflammation or sensitivity).

Each metric is scored and tracked over time. Higher is better for hydration, texture, and tone; for acne, pores, and redness, lower scores indicate improvement. The overall skin score (0–100) is a composite of these six metrics, giving you one number to track while you drill down into individual areas.

You can dive deeper in our skin metrics hub with dedicated guides: hydration, texture, tone, acne, pores, and redness. Each guide explains what the score means and how to improve it with your routine and product choices.

What Does the Overall Score Mean?

The overall score (0–100) is a composite that reflects the six metrics together. It gives you a single number to track over time — useful for comparing scans and seeing whether your routine and lifestyle are helping.

Improving individual metrics (e.g., hydration or tone) will typically raise your overall score. Use the per-metric breakdown to see which areas to focus on and to tailor your AM and PM routines and product choices. Over time, progress tracking shows how your overall score and each metric trend.

How Can I Improve My Scores?

Consistency is key: a stable morning and evening routine, SPF, and products suited to your skin type and concerns. Use the app's product recommendations and ingredient checker to choose products that support your goals, and track progress to see what's working.
